Ford has recalled 163,256 Bronco SUVs from model years 2021-2023 because they may have a loose bolt in both front seats. If it comes out, the seat might not fully protect occupants in an accident.
The company tells federal safety regulators, “On affected vehicles, one of the seat frame height adjustment pivot bolts may become loose and eventually dislodge on one or both front seats.” That could allow the seat to move in unexpected ways during a crash.
The company is not aware of any accidents or injuries, but at least five warranty claims related to the problem.
Dealers will replace the pivot links and bolts to fix the problem. Recall repairs are always free.
Ford has faced a challenging year with a shocking number of recalls. Prior to 2025, no automaker had ever issued more than 77 recalls in a single year. Ford, so far, has issued 134 with most of two months to go. The company may double the worst figure ever recorded.
