Ford Recalls Ranger Trucks Over Faulty Instrument Panels

Ford has issued a recall for 45 Ranger pickups from model year 2025 because their instrument panels may not accurately display critically needed information.

Ford tells the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that factory workers accidentally shipped some Ranger models to dealers before fully configuring their drivers’ instrument screens.

Because of the missed step, the company says, “The fuel gauge, distance to empty, and fuel economy may not be accurate or operational.” Critical safety warnings may not display when needed. The start/stop feature that shuts the engine down to prevent idling may not work, and customers may be unable to change drive modes or turn off traction control.

Dealers will fix the problem by performing the configuration step.

As with all recall repairs, the fix is free. Manufacturers attempt to contact every owner but don’t always reach them all with the news. Find out if your car has any outstanding recalls at our recall center.
