Honda Teases All-New 2026 Passport

Since its rebirth for the 2019 model year, the midsize Passport SUV has brought Honda’s legendary reliability to the 2-row SUV class. The Passport is known for its roomy cabin, a long list of standard equipment, and that Honda reputation. But it’s old.

Automakers traditionally redesign cars completely every five to seven years, giving them a styling makeover at the halfway point. For the Passport, the time is coming for a complete revamp. And, right on cue, Honda is teasing a wheels-up new Passport design.

Our first glimpse shows the rugged TrailSport model — and not much of it. Heavy shadows hide everything but a boxy shape and amber daytime running lights. A grille of four chrome octagons surrounds the Honda logo above the Passport name, spelled out wide and bright.

Honda has had little to say about the new model, but calls it “the most adventure ready and capable Honda SUV yet.” The brand calls it a 2026 model. It may be the first for that model year; Honda promises “arrival early next year.”

In broad strokes, the redesign will probably resemble that of its big brother, the 3-row Pilot. Honda took that model from near-minivan to boxy trail warrior with a recent remake. The Pilot still boasts a family friendly interior. But more engine power, a 10-speed automatic transmission, chunkier looks, and a capable TrailSport model that’s more than an appearance package gave it new rugged appeal.

A similar update to the Passport seems likely. We’ll know more soon. Once Honda starts releasing teaser photos, details usually come steadily.
