Lincoln Recalls Nautilus Again Over Windows That Pinch

Lincoln has issued a second recall for 102 Nautilus SUVs from model years 2024 and 2025 that may not have been repaired correctly under an earlier recall campaign.

The company initially recalled about 48,000 of the SUVs in January because their power windows might not reverse when they encountered resistance – a safety feature to prevent pinched fingers.

Dealers repaired most of them with a software update. Parent company Ford has since learned that its software update system could occasionally fail, yet still report success. Dealers returned some cars to owners, believing they were fixed when, in truth, the fix had failed.

Ford says it can identify the specific vehicles that may not have been properly fixed. It has developed a new process that verifies a successful download, so the problem won’t happen again.

So, dealers will fix the problem by installing the update again, ensuring a successful installation this time.

Carmakers try to notify the owners of recalled vehicles, but those efforts aren’t always 100% effective. To check if your car has any outstanding recalls, try our easy VIN check tool in our recall center.
