Mercedes-Benz recalled 366 Sprinter vans from model years 2023-2024 because a weak spot in their frames could compromise safety in an accident.
The company tells federal safety regulators that a frame member on the right side may lack the proper number of spot welds. As a result, “The seat mounts for the third row passenger seats might not sufficiently withstand the loads during a crash.”
The company is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to the problem, which was discovered during a factory inspection.
Dealers will inspect the frame part and “rework it if necessary” to fix the issue.
