- Porsche will release darkened special editions of three Taycan models for 2026
Automakers have embraced the darkness in recent years, rolling out special editions of many cars with darkened trim and badges. Porsche is the latest to join the craze.
The company today unveiled three new Black Editions of its 2026 Taycan (pronounced “tie-con”) high-performance electric car.
You can order the Black Edition on the base model Taycan, the all-wheel-drive (AWD) Taycan 4, or the ultra-high-performance all-wheel-drive Taycan 4S. Porsche has not revealed pricing. The 2025 Taycan on dealer lots now starts at $102,550, including the delivery fee.
You can also order it in something other than black. Porsche will sell these in Jet Black Metallic, Volcano Grey Metallic, Dolomite Silver Metallic, and Ice Grey Metallic for no additional charge. Customers can specify any other color for a fee.
The Black Editions get gloss black Porsche badging, window trim, and mirrors, as well as special “Black Edition” badges low on the doors. The Porsche crest on the wheels remains full-color and stands out beautifully against all the black.
Inside, they get black-embossed leather, though you can opt for a two-tone scheme with Slate Grey inserts.
It’s not just an appearance package. Black Edition buyers get the Performance Battery Plus as standard equipment, providing a range boost. A Bose surround-sound system, puddle lights, 14-way power front seats, and driver assistance in the form of Lane Change Assist and Surround View are also standard.
Porsche says deliveries will begin in the fall.
