Ram Recalls Electric ProMaster

Ram issued a recall for 790 ProMaster Electric vans from model years 2024-2025 because a software fault can cause them to lose all drive power.

The company tells federal safety regulators the software that manages drive power may shut down during certain torque spikes it should be able to control. That can cause a van to suddenly slow and lose propulsion.

The company is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to the problem. Factory workers discovered it when inspecting a vehicle.

Dealers will fix the issue by reprogramming software and, if necessary, replacing a module that controls power output.

By law, dealers never charge for recall repairs.

Manufacturers recall many cars, often more than once, during their lifespan. Automakers try to contact every owner but don’t always reach them all. Discover if your vehicle has any outstanding recalls with the easy-to-use vehicle identification number (VIN) tool at our recall center.
