- Tesla announced upgrades for its Model X and S, including suspension updates and noise cancellation upgrades
- Prices for both increased by $5,000
Tesla today announced updates to both its Model S sedan and Model X SUV. The company explained the changes on the social media site X (formerly Twitter) and nowhere else.
Both models saw an immediate $5,000 price increase for all trim levels.
Some changes apply to both models, including new wheel designs, “more effective” noise cancellation to help counter road and wind noise, and “new bushings and suspension design,” said to improve ride quality.
Others were model-specific. The Model X, Tesla says, now boasts more third-row and cargo space. The company announced no changes to the vehicle’s wheelbase or exterior, so the increased space may come from reconfigured seating or interior trim adjustments.
The high-performance Model S Plaid sees aerodynamic changes to promote high-speed stability.
