Introduction
Chrysler invented the minivan in the 1980s, and the Chrysler Pacifica is the modern interpretation of the original. Some formidable rivals have arisen to challenge the Chrysler minivan over the years, like the Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna. Still, the Chrysler Pacifica remains competitive with unique features like Stow ‘n Go seating and the perennially great Uconnect infotainment system. It’s even available with all-wheel drive (AWD) or as a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV). This generation of the Chrysler Pacifica first came out in 2017 and got a pretty significant refresh in 2021. One welcome update to the 2022 model was the addition of built-in Amazon Fire TV as an option.

KBB Review Highlights
We won’t spend too much time making the case that a minivan is the ultimate family vehicle, bar none. Sliding doors, 3-row seating that adults can actually use, and generous cargo space to boot are virtues shared by all minivans. Instead, let’s focus on what makes the Chrysler Pacifica unique in its competitive class.
For many families, the killer feature of the Chrysler Pacifica is Stow ‘n Go seating. With Stow ‘n Go, which is standard in every non-hybrid trim of the 2022 Pacifica (the hybrid has a battery in the way), the second- and third-row seats all fold flat into the floor. No messing around with lifting bulky, heavy seats out of the interior and finding a spot for them in the garage. The Pacifica effortlessly transitions from passenger van to cargo van. All modern minivans have a fold-flat third row, but the fold-flat second row is unique to the Chrysler.
The front of the cabin is dominated by a 10.1-inch UConnect-enabled touchscreen infotainment system. Chrysler equips the Pacifica with Amazon Alexa, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto compatibility. It also offers FamCam, a helpful tool that lets you view the vehicle’s interior from various camera angles.
The performance and fuel economy of the Pacifica’s standard V6 engine are right on par with competing V6-powered minivans. The Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid can travel up to 32 miles on electricity alone, and it gets 30 mpg combined with a depleted battery. All-wheel drive is optional, but only with the non-hybrid engine.
Several drive-enhancing features in the highest Pinnacle trim can be purchased as add-ons in the lower trims. The 360-degree camera, the family-favorite rear-seat entertainment system, the stowed-in vehicle vacuum, and an extra 110-volt outlet are the most intriguing. Trims above the base Touring receive perforated leather upholstery and heated front seats. That said, even the base comes fully equipped with a comprehensive set of safety features, including tri-zone automatic climate control, rain-sensing wipers, a powered tailgate, and an 8-way adjustable driver’s seat.
